How does shopping at the AGM work?
When you walk in the door, you will be given a envelope that describes the process of making purchases. When you want to make a purchase, have the sales representative from that area write up an itemized sales receipt, and put the receipt in your envelope. When you are done shopping, bring your receipt envelope to the Cashier area at the front. Your individual receipts will be totaled and you may pay by cash, check, or credit card. You can also get a tax receipt for outright donations to non-profit organizations. It may seem confusing, but don’t worry! There will be people at the door to explain the process as soon as you come in.
What does fair-trade mean?
From the Oxford Language Dictionary, fair-trade is defined as “trade between companies in developed countries and producers in developing countries in which fair prices are paid to the producers.” This means that there is a minimum wage for artisans who are involved in fair-trade, so they are protected financially from being paid under the necessary amount.
